GOOGLE TRIP

On December 8th we were invited to go ahead and visit google offices.  I  really do wanna say that the trip was of such an amazing expreince for me that can really be beneficial towards my future self. Learning about the office and talking to the interns and people that are working for google was really something new. The company had such of an amazing working environment for everyone that worked there that they really opened their heart and showed us how much they loved working for google. It wasn't just something that the company had a boss over your shoulder and pushed you to do work, it was more like you actually had the decision to do your work and have all the sweet benefits that google offers or get fired. And oh lord! the benefits you can get while working for google. They offer free gourmet chef cooked food from cafeterias that are between every two floors, 2 game rooms in the office where anyone can just take a break and play, scooters to get between offices...yes and I wasn't joking about that, and a mini electronic best buy to get supplies when needed for free. One of my main goals in life is to really get a career that would let me be able to actually have the opportunity to work for google. It's really been a huge dream of mine and seeing the actual work force has made the dream even bigger than it previous was before. Thank you so much Google for letting me and my web design have the opportunity to see the office and talk to some employees!

C/I Pep Rally

On Tuesday, there was a pep rally at the at ITHS highschool in the CCEC and there were many representatives there that talked about the importance of code. Even the Queens borough president was there! From the Queens borough president to the founder of code.org, coding is a real privilege that not that many people know how to do it around the world. Spreading the importance of coding and how it can help our growing technology is important and our school was the only school in Queens to have the opportunity to hear the wonderful speakers and professionals. There are so many open spaces for computer science jobs and there are not enough people to fill them, spreading the information about coding is really important. Not only, will it be very useful to know code, but the job is high paying too, which makes it more of a better job to have.

I really learned a lot at this pep rally about how important coding is in the real world and really hope that I will be able to major in computer science in college because of how much of an impact it has on society and how important it is to know code. Being able to understand code and write it is really a talent that when practiced, will be worth it to the end and it is my passion to pursue in code and understand it more. Thank you Mrs. Ramirez for this wonderful opportunity to be able to be a part of this pep rally, the founder of code.org for helping us learn code through your website, the Queens borough president for an amazing speech, Peipei and Katy from Facebook, Chau Deng from Accenture, Tom O'Connell from from Code Interactive, and all the other professionals that came to the pep rally!!
