Lab 14 Reflection

Lab 14 was basically making a somewhat mini calculator using JavaScript Math operations that incorporate expansion, subtraction, augmentation, and division. I created forms and buttons and made 4 alerts that included addtion, subtraction, multiplication, and division. When anyone wrote their first number and their second number, using any sort of mathematical operation, the correct final answer would appear under the buttons and forms on the site. I used a lot of prior knowledge from Labs 12 and 13. It was kind of tricky since sometimes it would work or it wouldn't. Overall, the objective of this lab was clear and obvious.
This lab, as mentioned beforehand, was sort of tricky since Mrs. Ramirez was somewhat unclear with the code that needed to be used and I was confused about it. But, as I started to research a little more online in order to understand what exactly it is that we're doing with Javascript, I realized that the coding from Lab 13 was needed to complete this lab but repeated 4 times doing different functions. After I took that to account, everything else came to be simple and easy. I used CSS styles/attributes in order to make my site better looking but I wish to utilize more designing skills in order to captivate my user's attention. These skills will definitely help me in the near future! This lab was fun and somewhat puzzle-solving.

Lab 13 Reflection

Lab 13 is additionally using JavaScript in which we must have the capacity to communicate with the Name, Phone, and Email boxes. What I needed to do was make it so that at whatever point somebody puts in a Name, Phone, and Email and taps the button that says "Go", every last bit of it will enroll and a fly up will demonstrate the majority of that data. This was extremely fascinating as this is something else that most sites have, which is putting your username to be a piece of the site and sign into. This lab was focused on being able to communicate and interact with any other user that may use the site. It demonstrates the fact that you know how to work with Javascript.
This lab was fun but stressful at the same time. I did struggle a lot learning how to do about with forms and whatnot. At first, I didn't get why that certain code worked the way it did. But, after a while of practicing and working with such, it helped me better understand the concept. I will use these skills for future projects and labs as well as in any other CTE related event if needed. I really did enjoy this lab since it made me feel like I can do so much more with my work and explicitly elaborate on the way my site is presented to other users.

York College STEM Trip

Image result for stem army program

On Friday, March 03, 2017, some Web students attended a STEM related program at York College, which we had to get there early. The Web students varied a couple from each grade so we all had either less or more knowledge of what was taught at the place. When we got there, we found out a lot about the ARMY and how being in the army won't hold back anyone from having an education in college. Matter of fact, after the years you serve in the army, they pay for your whole college tuition and fees and most of the money related situations. The Army actually sponsored the event! I was in the GaME program in the place and I kind of learned something new but at the same time, I found it boring and dull since I already knew what to do and how to do it. At the end of the day, we did get a nice bag with a lunch and a water bottle. It was fun and the experience itself was pleasing!

Lab 12 Reflection

For this lab in specific, we basically used all our previous knowledge like html and css attributes but also adding Javascript attributes for the first legitimate time. We basically we created a form and button using the <script> tag and having it work. Once we had that, we "decorated" the site with CSS attributes like adding colors to the background, changing the color of the text, changing the side or weight of the text, and changing the color of the actual button. The lab itself was quite simple and easy and I was happy with the outcome. We had one short period to complete this lab!
In conclusion, these skills I keep obtaining and learning I will use in the later future for any project or lab that needs Javascript work added to it. I really had no trouble throughout this lab, I was surprised myself because sometimes I do need help and ask my neighbors or peers for any advice or tip. I like the colors I also added to my site. Overall, this was good practice for more complicated forms or Javascript works!

Facebook Hackathon Reflection

Image result for facebook

SO on Saturday, March 04, 2017, individually the Web Academy family had to attend a hackathon being hosted by Facebook. They were being sponsored by many other companies. Anyways, it all started at exactly 8:00 in the morning. (Quite early compared to our first one) I met up with a couple of the early birds like Anvinh, Ashahi, Diondre, and Malik. When we first stepped into the building, it felt so luxurious and so much excitement came into mind waiting for me to look forward to the day. The breakfast was OKAY, they gave out my all time favorite beverage: COFFEE and a pretty wide variety of bagels with either the options to spread butter or cream cheese. Next time, they should ass jelly somewhere in there or a toaster so at least the bread is enjoyable to eat. After breakfast, most of the class started coming in and getting settled down meanwhile, others were making up their teams made of 2-3 people. I was in group of 3 including myself, Ayoub and Veronica!! We made a team logo, banner and started brainstorming beforehand since we had an idea of what was gonna be asked of us. Once they did tell us what our objective of the day was, all of the teams set up would be given a mentor to get any sorts of help from. My team was working on time until we came to the part of actually coding an APP on AppLab, which we never used before in class nor had any sorts of experience with beforehand. This was my biggest struggle throughout the whole day. My team was very supportive and helped me a lot along the way and just in time, we were all able to complete our own project with our own text responses. For lunch, we had some sandwiches and water and finally for dinner, we had dominos pizza with some soda, which really tasted good! The whole day was tiring and stressful but I had a blast just being around my classmates and having a good time. We all learned something new at the end of the day and it really felt good getting more experience in coding Javascript!
To conclude, this hackathon was truly fullfilling and made me feel a bit more confident in my work. Having those 10 hours of practice for APCSP Exam made me feel like I'll be able to manage my time more and be more efficient in the work I create and produce. I now have a true real idea of what the real test may be like and I feel like I'm ready for it now!

Project 2 Reflection

In project 2, the main purpose or objective needed to achieve was to explicitly elaborate on our favorite toon character using the newly learned skills from css. Growing up, my favorite character was Pink Panther since he was crazy and funny! He was always my most preferred that I bought a lot of merchandise based off of him. The site would contain 4 links, which were, The Homepage of the Site, The About Page speaking about the character and how it came about in order for it to be aired, The Process Page which states how the whole site was completed in time with the troubles I went through and the last page would be the Copyright Page which named all of the owner's rights and whatnot.
There were some troublesome and simple parts about making this site. A troublesome part about this site I experienced difficulty with was the point at which I was attempting to locate the correct measurements for each photo. The simple piece of this site was while making the route bar that would interface me to each of alternate pages that I needed to make.
To conclude, I found this project to be challenging yet simple. Most of the skills I improved on throughout this project would be used for further work and projects and labs. I tried my best to give the site full copyright and tried my absolute best to do my best in the time span we got. Sure I had a couple of obstacles but I had peers that would help me. Making a site is vital for turning into a Web Designer since that is the motivation behind this class and I can utilize these abilities I learned for a future employment that needs to do with planning sites.

CTE Expo Reflection

On February 15, 2017, the CTE Academies (Web Design & Video) always have an event in which the student of every academy and every grade inside that academy display the work they have recently finished in order to catch the attention of other freshman who have the true potential and interest in order to join any academy. The CTE Expo is an opportunity for freshman who really want to be part of a STEM related academy. OF COURSE, the Web Academy is the BEST! Therefore, we the students of Web Design Academy show off all of our work and interact with the 9th graders and convince them to want to join to this academy. With such a large number of freshman this year, just 30 seats are accessible so the most elite can just join.
There were a couple of wrongdoings but enjoyable actions during CTE Expo 2017. It started since first period and ended till the last period of the day which is 9th period. It was truly a great experience, like always, compared to last year. Some 9th graders are usually shy or don't speak up, being afraid to open up and ask any questions. This happened throughout the EXPO! I would enhance this with each Web Design Academy understudy taking one of the first year recruit when they come in and indicate them are the space to see the majority of the work while conversing with them about what Web Design is about so that nobody is deserted, clueless, and it is flawless and systematic.
The things that were enjoyable and worked out nicely throughout CTE Expo 2017 was the way that a ton of the work was appeared on the PCs and there were a great deal of tri-folds to demonstrate the ninth graders. The collaboration with the ninth graders was an enhance than a year ago as I would like to think too. We simply need to stay aware of the diligent work and enhance our abilities to make a site and our communication aptitudes with the rookie. Likewise, the apparel worn amid the Expo was exceptionally proficient as for the most part everybody was wearing business clothing/easygoing, as we need to get used to wearing that sort of garments to set us up for when we are landing a position.
The CTE Expo is truly useful for me as not exclusively does this make me get happy with wearing proficient clothing, yet it likewise assists with my talking abilities for when I need to converse with individuals balanced or talking out in the open. Talking is a vital expertise to have in the business world and I have to enhance it. Talking and clarifying code is vital to demonstrate the comprehension of the point and I can't flounder for when I talk, so the CTE Expo is an incredible chance to clarify coding that has been done and indicate individuals how it happens. The CTE Expo was a fun experience and Web Design is the BEST AND MOST AMAZING ACADEMY EVER!!WEB IS BETTER THAN VIDEO!!!!

Lab 11 Reflection

Lab 11 is the last wireframe for the Respect For All project. The main points in completing in this lab was to include shading, finish my textual styles, and have an enhanced blueprint in view of the criticism of my Lab 10 drafts. This wireframe is vital as it will indicate what I will put in my site and the format of how it ought to look with the textual styles and hues.
There were a few troubles when I was making the last wireframe on the grounds that I was confounded on how I ought to make the format of this site and didn't comprehend what textual styles or hues to use for the content or foundation. After I got a great deal of advice and tips from the class and the educator, I understood that my underlying format was the best fit than the other one introduced, so I stayed with the design appeared below and worked with it.
I learned the skill of being able to take feedback from my peers and teachers in order in how you can enhance and improve it so more individuals will come and view it. Helpful feedback is dependably, something to be thankful for to have as there will dependably be opportunity to get better. This will be extremely valuable for up and coming labs and projects and works as I will take what I realized and think about it while making another wireframe.

Lab 10 Reflection

For lab 10 we assume to make a wire outline for venture 3. Fundamentally we need to make a diagram for venture 3 , with the goal that I can get a thought on where to put my flag, pictures, joins, route bar, and so on.

Initially I need to make 3 drafts for landing page. For the principal draft I need to make essential blueprint about how the page will resemble. Second draft include some particular data and in conclusive draft as can see above, pick shading and genuine data that i'm going to include landing page. So as to make the outline(lab 10) I utilized Photoshop CS6 and afterward change over the psd document into pdf. I additionally made the drafts for my other three pages that will be in my venture.

Project 3 Reflection

Respect For All is a critical point to discuss as there are individuals in this world who are one-sided and slight individuals for their identity and what they have faith in. The theme that I secured for Respect For All is Animal Cruelty. Animal Cruelty to me is quite a crucial topic to touch upon on. Personally, I feel like every animal had rights and shouldn't be exposed to any harsh and gruelsome life! It's wrong and believing in the Catholic Church, I speak with utmost passion that God made animals and all life in order for it to cherished and taken care of. Why would one do the absolute opposite? It's sickening to me simply thinking of it. Therefore, I support the stop to animal cruelty!

The skills I learned along the way well be extremely useful as I get the chance to find out about how individuals need to regard religion and not instantly think one way, but rather investigate with the assets furnished with us. Likewise, with making or attempting to make an expert site, I figured out how to make new things with CSS like adding a footer to the base of the page to demonstrate my name, copyright, and fake contact data. It was an exceptionally accommodating venture to do and I took in a considerable measure amid my time doing this and will most likely utilize this later on for when I need to outline a site.
